World Rugs

World Rugs was one of the earliest sites dealing with Oriental carpets to be published on the web, first appearing back in the early days of the mid 1990s, when the fastest modems ran at 28.8 kps.

At the beginning, World Rugs was no more than a single web page serving as a portal gateway to other rug-related sites such as Anglo Persian Carpet Company and the UK/International carpet auctioneers Bickenstaff and Knowles.

Gradually, the site evolved into abroad centre for the worldwide oriental rugs community, with discussion board, resources directory and multi-interactive functionality.
